Babin Apiary

Babin Apiary is a beekeeping operation located in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Don Babin, the owner, manages 25 hives spread across towns like Manteo and Corolla. With over 60 years of experience, Don specializes in honey production and pollination services for crops such as blueberries and apples. His bees are primarily Italian, known for their gentleness and manageability.

The apiary uses the Langstroth system, which consists of vertically stacked modular boxes to house the bees. This setup provides insulation and protection for the colonies. Don is dedicated to the welfare of his bees, ensuring they have enough honey for winter and preparing the hives for colder temperatures.
