My name is Haley Rushton and I am a first generation female farmer. I married into a farm family and have learned so much from my father-in-law. We recently opened our produce stand that offers fresh, in season produce. We live in a rural community where a lot of the citizens are aging but have been used to having their own small gardens. Due to age and health constraints, a lot of our community aren’t able to have their own gardens. The produce stand is a way that our community continues to have access to fresh produce that they have always been used.
