M R Gardens

M R Gardens is an educational farm in the Oakley community of Asheville with a sustainable nursery, primarily offering native perennials. We have a one-of-a-kind passive solar greenhouse that is heated purely by the sun and cooled using manual vents. The ecologically landscaped farm has native flower gardens, attracting many pollinators and other beneficial insects to help keep a healthy garden ecosystem. It also has holistically maintained orchards and vegetable gardens, rich with beneficial microbes. Customers can reserve plants at our online store, and we also offer tours of the gardens and greenhouse. Guests staying at our Tiny House have the option to order vegetable baskets. The business was established in 2011.
