The Sanctuary at Red Bell Run

The Sanctuary at Red Bell Run is a 501(c)(3) equine sanctuary in the foothills of Columbus, NC, providing lifelong, individualized care to more than 125 special‑needs horses, donkeys, and mules. Visitors can explore our beautiful 200‑acre property through free guided tours (donations appreciated), where they’ll meet our residents and learn their stories. We also host the Read with Rescues program, giving children and families a compassionate space to build confidence by reading to our gentle equines. Beyond our gates, we support local horse owners through our managed hay bank, offering assistance during times of need. For guests who want to immerse themselves in the full Sanctuary experience, we offer an on‑site AirBnB with stunning views of the farm.
