1870 Farm is an award winning educational farm located in the heart of Chapel Hill. The farm offers day and overnight camps, as well as the the Junior Vet Academy which takes place at 1870 Farm and the UNC campus. The farm has summer camp programs for kids ages 3-15 from mid June until Mid August.

The mission of 3 Bluebirds Farm is to create an environmentally sustainable agricultural community of choice in Raleigh, NC, where adults on the autism spectrum can live dignified and meaningful lives with support. Additionally, to offer individualized day camp and track-out programs to school-aged children with autism (Camp Bluebird, a division of 3 Bluebirds Farm), in which they can thrive and continue to grow and learn socially, physically and intellectually on a farm setting.

A.L. Baucom Family Farms’ history goes back over 100 years and three generations. In 1901 Emanuel and Ola Baucom purchased the original home place. Through the years, they worked to bring the land into production and raise their children. We currently grow corn, wheat, soybeans, cotton, and peanuts. We also grow strawberries and other produce for Piedmont Produce General Store. Our operation covers 9,000 acres in both North and South Carolina. We utilize no-till conservation planting methods to protect and enhance the land that we farm.

Blue Dragonfly Cut Flower Farm is family owned and we grow a large selection of specialty cut flowers from April to October. Flowers can be purchased from our roadside stand which opens approximately the last week in April, or by appointment at the farm.

We treat our goats with homeopathic remedies and herbs to keep them healthy. The goats are fed with all-natural local hay that is not treated with sprays or other harmful chemicals. After the milk comes from the goats, we pasteurize it and make it into all the different flavors immediately. The sooner the milk is used, the fresher the cheese is. Our goat cheese is so smooth and creamy that even folks who say “I don’t like goat cheese” are delighted by the tastiness!

Doug Reagan has wanted to do this all his life! He grew up on a farm, and this land has been in his family for many years. A few years ago, Doug left his work building houses and he and his wife Kim began farming here with only six goats. They now have more than 300, including 50 babies this spring! In addition to the goat farm, the Reagans have 20 acres dedicated to produce, which will also be sold in season at their roadside stand.
