Our market is predicated on supporting local manufacturers and vendors. We offer local meets, cheeses, arts, snacks and an incredible array of products sourced here in Western NC. Oh, and, of course, we also have the widest selection of local beers in the area!

Our family lives and works on Acorn Acres Farmstead, a 38‑acre regenerative, pasture‑based farm that supports both our meat production and our elderberry business, Happy Heart Elderberry. Although they serve different needs, both operations are based at the same address and reflect our commitment to healthy, sustainably made products. Benjamin Vineyards is a Pick-Your-Own vineyard specializing in Southern Muscadine varieties. We open Labor Day weekend for picking and remain open on weekends through October as long as there are grapes to harvest. We grow 12 different varieties of muscadine grapes. My name is Haley Rushton and I am a first generation female farmer. I married into a farm family and have learned so much from my father-in-law. We recently opened our produce stand that offers fresh, in season produce. We live in a rural community where a lot of the citizens are aging but have been used to having their own small gardens. Due to age and health constraints, a lot of our community aren’t able to have their own gardens. The produce stand is a way that our community continues to have access to fresh produce that they have always been used.

Our farm made its first dairy shipment June 6, 1927, and we have been milking cows ever since. During the farm’s 85+ years as a dairy operation both Jersey and Hohlstein cows have been milked for fluid milk production. This is our 16th year growing SHIITAKE mushrooms.  We grow them outdoors on natural logs following a 3,000 year old technique.  We have sold over 9 TONS of shiitake mushrooms.  Once inocculated with mushroom spawn the logs will continue to produce for 5 to 10 years.  We currently have 13,500 logs stacked over a 3 acre spot in the deep, dark and damp woods.  These mushroom grow between 35 and 85 degrees and are dormant in the summer months.  However we almost always have dried mushrooms available year round.  These rehydrate readily and plump back up like fresh. We are a family-owned strawberry & vegetable farm with a roadside stand. We have packaged products, salad dressing, jams, corn shuckers, and shelled peas as well. We offer group specials in the spring for daycares, Mom groups with toddlers, and pre-schools to visit our farm in the spring for “pick your own” strawberries as well as make it educational to the children.
