1870 Farm is an award winning educational farm located in the heart of Chapel Hill. The farm offers day and overnight camps, as well as the the Junior Vet Academy which takes place at 1870 Farm and the UNC campus. The farm has summer camp programs for kids ages 3-15 from mid June until Mid August.

We are a first generation beef farm. We sell grass-fed beef to customers in “shares.” We open our farm to the public in the summer for summer farm camps for children ages 5-12. The museum is the culmination of many years planning by the Carolina Antique Power Association, a group of people who enjoy acquiring and restoring artifacts of the past. The building was constructed at Sloan Park in western Rowan County in 2016 and is still a work in progress. In 2006, the United States Congress gave North Carolina a grand and historic gift in deeding to the state the Mattamuskeet Lodge, a nearly 75-year-old building treasured by hunters, birdwatchers and historians. Since it began conception in 2002, the River Walk has seen the successful completion of all phases of the basic trail construction between Konehete Park and the Old L&N Depot, and now includes the Confluence Loop and Canoe Trails.
