Dewberry Farms

Kernersville, NC

Dewberry Farms, owned by the same family since 1925, was once a sugar cane and tobacco farm. Now they grow row upon row of colorful flowers, including sunflowers, tulips, zinnias, lavender and more. They host both public and private events with the stunning backdrop of their flower fields. Just imagine saying your vows amongst thousands of beautiful blooms. They also have a number of animals on the property, including two babydoll sheep, two ponies, a highland cow, a mini-donkey, three quarter-horses and several goats.

The farm has been hosting weddings for 16 years, starting with the wedding of owners Wendi and Art Johnson. “I think we are unique because our love for this farm, and sharing it, comes through with all our events,” said Wendi, “We live on the farm and are a part of everything that happens here. We are here to make sure everything runs smoothly.” Dewberry Farms offers elopement and microwedding packages for up to 50 guests.

Sanctuary Farm

Chapel Hill, NC

Sanctuary Farm is a “nature-inspired” wedding venue focused on sustainability. The 28-acre farm uses organic practices in its growing methods and offers experiences rooted in nature, connection and presence through its events. They welcome all loving unions on their farm.

The farm hosts both weekend-long weddings and one-day celebrations, with options that allow couples to create a gathering that feels relaxed, meaningful and connected to the land. They can accommodate up to 40 overnight guests in a variety of unique accommodations. With space to truly settle in, gather around meals, enjoy the sauna, explore the land and gardens, interact with the farm animals, dance under the stars, and be together in a way that feels meaningful and relaxed, the space invites both celebration and rest. Sanctuary Farm is also perfect for DIY celebrations, as couples have the flexibility to choose their own vendors and create a wedding that feels uniquely their own.

If sustainable practices are important to you or you are seeking an eco-friendly alternative to a traditional wedding venue, Sanctuary Farm may be a good fit. The farm composts food waste and compostable disposables on site, encourages reusable dishware and provides tableware for smaller events, uses solar powered electricity and well water, supports local farms and local food, and tends the gardens and land with organic practices and long term ecological care. The natural beauty of the farm also allows many couples to lean less heavily on decor and more fully into the landscape around them.

Sanctuary Farm has a variety of ceremony location options.
