ASAP Connections Cost Share Programs

ASAP, through support from the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission, has funds available for Appalachian Grown certified farms and farm groups in North Carolina to promote locally grown food in 2026.

N.C. Agriculture Manufacturing and Processing Initiative (NCAMPI)

NCAMPI was created to fund and promote the establishment of value-added agricultural manufacturing and food processing facilities in North Carolina.

NC AgVentures Farm Grant Program | NC State Extension

NC AgVentures Farm Grant Program is one of three programs to offer cost-share grants to NC family farms to diversify, expand or enhance their agricultural operations. Together these programs provide a grant opportunity to all 100 counties in the state and Cherokee.

NC Division of Parks & Recreation

NC Division of Parks & Recreation offers grant opportunities that may support innovative agritourism projects which enhance sustainable agriculture, community engagement, and environmental education. Operators are encouraged to explore these grants to improve visitor experiences and help drive regional tourism growth while preserving local natural resources.

NCA&T Small Famrs Research and Innovation Center

North Carolina A&T State University‘s Small Farms Resource and Innovation Center helps North Carolinians, farmers, and ranchers grow thriving, local, and regional food and agriculture systems by providing access to research, education, resources, partners, and markets,

NCDA&CS Farmland Preservation Division & NC Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund

Funding allocated by the NC General Assembly for agricultural conservation easements that help ensure the land remains in agricultural, horticultural or forestry production.

RAFI USA

RAFI USA – provides crisis and technical support to Historically Underserved farmers and ranchers (USDA definition) for projects that demonstrate an ability to increase farm viability; establish new markets for local products and services; develop new uses for existing structures and equipment; add value to existing farm products through processing, packaging or marketing.

Rural Economic Development

Rural Economic Development local offices offer loans, grants and loan guarantees to businesses through banks, credit unions and community-managed lending pools.

Small Farms – Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI)

The Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) program builds resilience in the middle of the food supply chain, to provide more and better markets to small farms and food businesses, to support the development of value-added products for consumers, fair prices, fair wages, and new and safe job opportunities.

Southeast Dairy Business Innovation Initiative

The Southeast Dairy Business Innovation Initiative offers a Specialty Processing Equipment Grant and Dairy Business Planning Grant.

The Conservation Fund

Through our Farms Fund initiative, we secure farmland on the edge of major metro areas and match that farmland to the ideal farmer who leases and stewards the land until TCF protects it forever with an agricultural conservation easement.

UPLIFT NC

UPLIFT NC works regionally – across county borders – to support local tourism leaders and practitioners in realizing their vision for tourism in their community, including natural, recreational, cultural, agricultural, culinary, built and other tourism.

Assistance for Agriculture and Forestry producers after Hurricane Helene.

USDA NRCS

USDA NRCS offers infrastructure support for projects such as building water retention ponds for animals and high tunnels, among other technical and financial assistance.

USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program

The Specialty Crop Block Grant Program aims to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops in the marketplace. Through a competitive process the department accepts grant requests from nonprofit organizations, commodity associations, state and local government agencies, colleges and universities. Individuals and businesses (including farms) are not eligible to apply for the Specialty Crop Block Grant.
