10th Annual WNC Fermenting Festival at Olivette Farm
The 10th Annual WNC Fermenting Festival will take place Sunday, Nov. 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Olivette Farm Stand, 172 Old Macedonia Road, Alexander, N.C.
Admission is free, and the event is family friendly.
The festival features local and regional fermenters offering product samples and free demonstrations on preparing foods and drinks such as jun, koji, gluten-free sourdough, ciders, fruit wines, chocolates, vegan cheeses and more.
Vendors will also share information and resources on the benefits of probiotic-rich, locally grown fermented foods.
Additional activities include live T-shirt printing, ceramic artists, farmers, food trucks, local resources and other regional offerings.
The event is designed to bring together residents of Asheville, Western North Carolina and surrounding communities in support of fermentation, food preservation, farming and food security.
